Our special features

Scavenger Hunt: Look for signs listing the items for our photo scavenger hunt. Take a photo for each item listed. Show it to the retail desk anytime before 5PM on Saturday to receive free raffle tickets.

Miniatures Showcase: Bring your minis to the Retail desk any time on Saturday to show off your hard work! No prizes, no entry fee. Just admiration for your work!

Raffle: Your chance to win free games and prizes! Buy tickets anytime on Friday or Saturday until 5PM to place tickets in containers for each of the raffle items. Raffle item winners will be chosen after the auction. At least one ticket is included with every pre-registration!

Dice Guess: Help our chosen charity, The Bodhana Group, by participating in the dice guess. $1 per guess of how may dice are in the container. Person who gets the closest wins the container and everything inside.

Costume Contest: The theme for the fall convention is Aliens: In space, no one can hear you roll. So bring out your best costumes related to aliens, space, xenomorphs, and the like for a chance to win. Enter at the Retail desk any time on Saturday before 4PM.

Coloring Contest: Coloring sheets and tools are on the puzzle table in the hallway. Hand it in by 4PM on Saturday to enter!

All entries for the above will be shared on social media. Contest winners will be announced and prizes awarded at 6PM on Saturday before our auction!

Saturday Night Auction

Every MEPACON we hold an auction on Saturday night. We only accept gaming-related items. Please, no magazines, comics, PC games, VHS tapes, or novels—except for complete multi-book series.

There are limits on the number of items allowed per seller. There are two tiers:

  • The free tier allows up to 5 items per seller at no cost.

  • The paid tier allows an additional 10 items (for a total of 15) for a non-refundable fee of $10. VIPs will automatically be placed in the paid tier.

For those with more items beyond the auction limit, we have the MEPACON Marketplace. This space is dedicated to immediate-purchase (“buyout”) items and will be separate from the auction table. Purchases will be handled at the retail desk.

MEPACON will collect a 20% commission from both auction sales and MEPACON Marketplace sales.

There are three types of auction items:

  • Personal auction (white slips) – you set a buyout price, which people can pay pre-auction and receive the item; if the item goes to auction, we will start the bidding at half the buyout (rounded to the nearest dollar). After the auction, you will get a payout of 80% (rounded to the nearest whole dollar) of what your items sell for. Download Personal Auction Slips

  • Charity auction (gold slips) – ALL of the money for these items goes to Charity. Download Charity Auction Slips

Instructions

To enter items in the auction:

  • Fill out an auction slip and attach it to the item.

  • Please fill in the SELLER (your name), ITEM (the thing you are auctioning), and BUYOUT sections. Be as descriptive as possible in the ITEM description. The remainder of the sections will be completed by MEPACON staff.

  • Place items (with slips attached) on the indicated tables in the main ballroom on Saturday.

  • Each person may choose up to 5 items that are guaranteed to go to auction as long as they fit the above qualification until we hit a maximum number of items. These are indicated by a colored sticker on the tag. If there is additional time in the auction, we will auction additional items. There is no limit on the number of items you may put in for buyout. Only items with a buyout higher than $5 will go to auction. Feel free to bundle items for a higher buyout.

Schedule - Saturday

  • 8AM-5PM – Items for the auction are displayed near the Retail desk in V2 and buyouts can be purchased at the desk during that time.

  • 6:15PM-7:30PM – Auction

  • Please claim any unsold items by 8PM. At that time, all remaining items become the property of MEPACON.

  • After 9PM, proceeds will be available for pick up at the retail desk. Proceeds will be held until the end of the convention.

  • If you would like a receipt for Charity items, please see Katie or email admin@mepacon.com. Receipts may also be requested for proceeds, but will not be issued automatically.

About Our Charities

The Bodhana Group

We support the Bodhana Group with our Charity Dice Guess and selected items from our auction with a gold tag. Bring donations for the auction to the Retail Desk on the Saturday of the convention. The auction begins during our Main Event at 6PM!

Turning Point of Lehigh Valley

We are also collecting donations for Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, a local domestic violence shelter. Check out Turning Point’s wish lists at https://turningpointlv.org/get-involved/wish-list/.

Animal Rescue

We collect pet items as well and donate anything we receive to a local animal rescue. Please bring food for help feed animals in need. Only new items please.
